Dr Peter D’Alessandro

Dr Peter D’Alessandro is an Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialises in Sports Surgery: ACL & multi-ligament knee reconstruction, shoulder stabilisation & hamstring repair. He has a particular interest in surgery for athletes and helps manage the injuries of players from several professional sporting clubs.

After completing his surgical training in WA, Peter worked in London and Vancouver alongside some of the world’s premier sports surgeons and teams, and now runs the Perth Sports Surgery Fellowship for incoming international surgeons based at Fiona Stanley Fremantle Hospitals Group. He consults privately at Coastal Orthopaedics, has academic positions at UWA and Curtin and is a Director of the Orthopaedic Research Foundation of Western Australia. Current research projects include two RCTs: assessing single vs dual hamstring tendon ACL reconstruction and rehabilitation after hamstring repair, along with the development of an evidence-based return to sport protocol after shoulder instability surgery.

He loves sport and is passionate about achieving excellent outcomes for athletes (at all levels!) with best practice multi-disciplinary care.
